East China is in no way affiliated with East Cafe, which is located at Chambers and Mississippi. We own our own restaurant just like they do, however, keep in mind that they do not deliver.
Do you deliver to me?
If you've received a menu from us in the mail, then we deliver to you. If you live within a 5 mile radius, we also deliver to you. We cover Montbello, Green Valley Ranch, and others as well. If you are unsure, please give us a call at 303-363-6689 and we will gladly help you.
How long will my delivery or pick-up take?
The answer to this question depends on many factors that are unpredictable. Almost always, pick-up is much faster than delivery and it should take about 10 minutes depending on the size of the order and the items on the order. We expect our deliveries to arrive anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. However, due to factors in weather, number of deliveries, location, items ordered, etc. this time may be either shorter or longer. We're very sorry if your delivery takes longer than 1 hour and 10 minutes but please be patient, we are on our way!
Also, keep in mind that if you live north of Smith Road, that our drivers may be caught by the train.
Why is my called-in order not ready?
A called-in order may be delayed by multiple factors. One of which is if it is busy, we must work through all the other orders as well and we'd like to apologize for the inconvenience in advance. When it is not busy, a called-in order may not be ready yet because we wait until you show up. The reason behind this is that too frequently customers say they will be here in 5 minutes but end up showing up 30 minutes later. This makes the food cold and not nearly as fresh. By waiting temporarily, we can ensure the that your food will be warm and ready for you. Furthermore, many customers confuse our restaurant with East Cafe on Chambers and Mississippi. They would call us and place and order but go to East Cafe to pick it up and East Cafe will simply take that order and make it for you. To ensure that customers do show up for their food, we wait for customers to show up. Again, sorry for the inconvenience and we appreciate your business and patience.
What is the difference between Lo Mein and Chow Mein?
Lo Mein is made of soft noodles whereas Chow Mein has crunchy noodles. Lo Mein is more spaghetti-like and it does not
come with rice. Chow Mein is more of an entree with crunchy noodle chips on the side that you may add and it does
come with rice.
What if I can't find the item I want on your menu?
If there is an item that you'd like that is not on the menu you may call and ask if we will make it for you. We make many items that are not on the menu. We can also make custom dishes. For example, the Chicken with Broccoli entree comes with a lighter sauce known as "white sauce" but some people like it with a darker sauce known as "brown sauce," and we happily make these dishes for you. Remember our phone number is (303)363-6689.
Why is my delivery packaged with a liquor box?
We use liquor boxes donated by a local liquor store to help reuse the boxes in an effort to be more green. By reusing the boxes, we can reduce the amount of bags and boxes we buy and use thus, reducing the amount of trees cut down to make them. In addition, a box holds the amount of food ordered better than paper bags.
What do I do if I have a large order (15+ entrees) to be delivered or picked-up?
If you have a large order for delivery or pick-up, we would appreciate it if you could let us know a day ahead with a phone call. We also ask that you place the order at that time or fax it to us either that day or the next morning. This would greatly expedite your order as well as assist us with understanding your order. We appreciate your business and thank you for your cooperation.
Do I need to make reservations?
We do not ask that you make reservations for dining in. However, we do ask that if your party size is 8 or above, that you would call either the day before or 6 hours before the party is expected to arrive. This way, we can ensure that your party will have a table.
Can I substitute items?
We do allow our customers to substitute some items but not all. For example, our Lunch Special comes with a choice of soup but those who do not want soup can opt to have a single chicken wing or cheese wonton. Only some substitutions are permitted so please ask when you are ordering.
